Surrey Hills community leaders and members adopt children of families who may be struggling to provide a Christmas.\nWe are a part of a fun Christmas themed parade that winds through the community of Surrey Hills. At the finish point\, we are able to celebrate together with a fun Christmas party and also see the impact in children’s lives by seeing all the gifts provided for the children who are less fortunate.\nThe parade starts at 2 pm. DESCRIPTION:Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases and over 50 counties reaching the red status of infection rate\, we have made the difficult decision to make a change to our Outdoor Worship Experience. Instead of canceling\, we are doing a “Drive-Thru Worship Experience.” Yes…you read that right\, a DRIVE-THRU Worship Experience! Being lead by GC Surrey Hills volunteers\, you and your family will be able to experience connection\, worship\, prayer\, and the love of Jesus from the safety of your vehicle. SUMMARY:Love Opportunity: Lion's Park Clean Up
DESCRIPTION:Our mission as a church is to Invite people to follow Jesus by loving God\, loving people\, and serving others.\nWell\, we have an opportunity to live out that mission this Saturday\, November 14. The community park in Surrey Hills\, The Lions Club Park\, received extensive tree damage during the ice-ageddon storm. Many of the GC Surrey Hills family will be there to help clean up branches and rake the messy areas. We need help! Many hands make for light and short work. Here is what we will be doing/need:\n\n\nRelocation of limbs – Much of the branches are on the ground and have been cut up. Our primary need is to drag the limbs to a predetermined location for disposal.\nRake\, rake\, and rake – After the big debris is relocated\, we need to rake up those areas. WE NEED NUMEROUS RAKES!\nTrashy McTrash – We would like to comb through the park and pick up any trash around the park.\n\n\nWe believe we could knock this task out in a few short hours or less. Just in time to go home\, clean up\, and come back for the Outdoor Worship Experience that starts at 4 pm. ?\nWe will be doing this project in collaboration with the Jesus of Latter-Day Saints in Surrey and The Lion’s Club. Let us come together and show this community what GC Surrey Hills is about! DESCRIPTION:We’re planning a neighborhood trunk or treat with an epic twist! The first ever ‘Surrey Hills Ride n’ Seek\, Trunk or Treat’ will combine a trunk or treat with a scavenger hunt. It will provide some friendly competition for our whole neighborhood to enjoy in a fun and safe way! We can’t pull this off without the help of our friends and neighbors.\n\n\n\nWe are looking for 20 people who would be willing to set up a trunk or table in their driveway (or other Surrey Hills location)\, decorated and ready to give out candy in a way that’s social distancing friendly! By creating a candy chute\, a candy zip line or coming up with some other creative way to hand out candy while maintaining social distancing\, you can help be good to our neighbors who have serious health conditions.  We don’t want anyone to miss out on the fun!\n\n\n\nAll ‘trunk/table’ slots must sign up no later than Oct. 15th in order for us to make our scavenger hunt cards for everyone.
