My name is Gordon Herrmann, and I am a beloved child of God. I also happen to be a pastoral resident here at Grace Communion Surrey Hills. I was born and raised in the Richardson, TX in the Dallas metroplex. I grew up in GCI and raised in the congregation now known as Grace Communion Richardson.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas, with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. My years in college were really formative in my Christian walk. I was working in the teen ministry in my local congregation as well as a campus ministry at UTD. I started to feel the calling of ministry on my heart, and to have that calling affirmed by multiple mentors in my life. A month or so after graduating I moved to Cincinnati to pursue this calling.
I spent the next 2.5 years as a ministerial intern at Christ Fellowship Church, learning the rhythms of vocational ministry and further discerning my calling. At the end of my internship I decided to continue on this path and applied for the pastoral residency program and moved down to OKC.
For more info about my ministry as a resident, I’ll post occasional updates which you can find here.
And if you feel so-called, you can join me in ministry by supporting my fundraising efforts by going here.
