A New Season

Hello GC Surrey Hills family,

I wanted to come to you with a couple of updates and some exciting news.

This Sunday, January 2, we will be gathering back together at the Surrey Hills Elementary gym for our Worship Experience. We took December 26 off so we and the GCSH serve teams can spend time with their families; we are all about relationship!

The exciting news I want to share is that the construction of the new building is getting very close! Final projects, fixes, and cleaning is happening on a daily basis. It is looking more and more like a completed building. There are some determining factors to whether we will be able to start gathering at our new place. The hopeful goals would be:

Back deck gets completed by end of the week to allow the landscape crew to finish landscaping in the back next week.
Final inspections of electrical, fire marshal, and zoning are completed AND PASS next week.
The final city inspection completed AND PASS by Friday, January 7.
We receive Certificate of Occupancy Friday, January 7!

If all of this goes to plan, then we will have our first Worship Experience and gathering Sunday, January 9! This is such exciting news for our church, the community, and GCI! No matter what date our first Worship Experience will be, it will be a special smaller experience for us to celebrate what God has and christen the building to God. Afterward, it will be a work party to get things moved in and set up as much as possible! There will be a lot to do!!!

As exciting as this is, construction in general and with the added challenges of supply issues, there are some unforeseen challenges that arise and change plans. If there are any issues that keep any final inspections from occurring or we do not pass, then we will most likely be pushed back a little more.

I and the GCSH leadership thank you for your continual prayers, support, and encouragement. We love you all and are excited to see Jesus working in all sorts of ways…well beyond our wildest dreams.
